The President’s Message

Dear Members of the Greater Hamilton USBC,

I am honored to serve as the President of the Greater Hamilton USBC as we begin a new season together. Having spent the past six years on the board, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible passion and dedication within our bowling community. As I step into this leadership role, I am committed to listening, learning, and leading with a vision that reflects the values and voices of our members.

This year marks the beginning of a renewed journey—one guided by a comprehensive three-year strategic plan built around eight key pillars that will shape the future of our association:

  • Membership Growth & Engagement: We will actively seek ways to attract new members, re-engage past bowlers, and build meaningful connections through league support, recognition programs, and open communication.
  • Tournaments & Competitive Programming: Our tournament offerings will continue to evolve, with a focus on fair play, consistent lane conditions, diverse formats, and timely communication—all driven by feedback from our members.
  • Youth Development: Investing in our youth is investing in our future. We aim to strengthen youth leagues, scholarships, and transitional programs that bridge the gap between youth and adult bowling.
  • Governance & Sustainability: Transparency and accountability will remain central. We’re reviewing our policies, improving internal operations, and implementing a detailed succession plan to ensure long-term stability.
  • Public Relations & Social Media: We are enhancing our visibility online and in the community. From bowler spotlights to event promotions, we’ll ensure the voice of the GHUSBC is seen and heard.
  • Fundraising & Sponsorships: With a new sponsorship initiative in motion, we are developing meaningful partnerships that align with our mission and help support programming, tournaments, and awards.
  • Supporting Local Bowling Centers: Strong centers mean a strong association. We’re working hand-in-hand with proprietors to promote open communication, consistent expectations, and mutual support.
  • Awards & Recognition: Celebrating milestones and achievements remains a priority. We’ll continue to refine our local awards and recognition programs to honor bowlers of all ages and skill levels.

These strategic goals aren’t just bullet points—they’re a reflection of what we’ve heard during roundtables, surveys, and conversations with you, our bowlers. I encourage every member to get involved, whether by joining a committee, participating in events, or sharing your ideas with us.

This season, we begin with optimism and a clear purpose. Together, we can build an association that not only represents bowlers—but empowers them. Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me. I look forward to serving you with dedication and heart.

Sincerely,

Alicia Elam
