President’s Welcome
Dear Greater Hamilton USBC Members and Bowling Community,
I’m honored to introduce myself as the new President of the Greater Hamilton USBC. It’s a privilege to serve such a passionate and dedicated community, and I’m excited for the opportunity to help lead our association into its next chapter.
First, I want to take a moment again to sincerely thank Dennis Young for his years of dedicated leadership as President. His hard work and commitment have helped shape GHUSBC into the strong, well-organized association it is today. I’m incredibly grateful for the foundation he has built, and I look forward to building upon it.
Bowling is more than just a sport—it’s a lifelong connection between friends, families, and teammates. As someone who has been deeply involved in our local bowling scene, I’m committed to upholding the rich traditions of the GHUSBC while working collaboratively with our board, bowlers, local centers, and other local associations to grow and strengthen our association.
For those who may not know me well yet, I’ve been involved with the Greater Hamilton USBC for several years—serving on the board, supporting tournaments, and working on initiatives to grow membership and youth involvement. I also bring many years of experience working at Gilmore Lanes, where I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with leagues, tournaments, centers, and bowlers. That experience has given me a deep appreciation for the operations side of our sport and the importance of strong partnerships between associations and centers.
My goals as President include:
- Enhancing communication between the board and membership
- Supporting our local bowling centers and youth programs
- Expanding participation in leagues and tournaments
- Recognizing bowlers and volunteers for their achievements and service
- And most importantly, listening to your ideas and feedback to help shape the future of bowling in Greater Hamilton.
You’ll be hearing more in the coming weeks as we roll out new initiatives and build on the strong foundation already in place. I welcome your questions, input, and involvement—this association belongs to all of us.
Thank you for your continued support. I’m excited to get to work and help make this season a great one!
Join us tomorrow Saturday, August 2nd for our first open meeting of the year at Gilmore Lanes at 12pm.
Yours in bowling,
Alicia Elam
